American One's owner and lead agent, Karina Castillo, grew up in an insurance household. Like many of us before and since, the path her father had paved to provide for his family was not the path Karina chose...at first.

The hard lessons learned from a professional insurance broker-dad in Mexico made it possible for Karina to move to the United States and flourish in the mortgage industry until the real estate and mortgage crisis that visited the U.S. in 2008.

Shortly after, the American One Insurance Agency was formed with a special focus on helping business owners plan for and protect themselves from the unpleasant surprises that come along with running a business, and also with helping those business owners protect their hard earned incomes and assets.
